HOW TO DRAW A LINE AND SHAPE ON CORELDAW

CorelDraw provides various drawing tools that let you draw curved and straight lines, and lines containing both curved and straight segments. After this stage you will know how to:
  • Draw basic shapes
  • Draw striate and curved lines, and create a close shape
  • Manipulate nodes, change line segment and node types, and convert a shape to curves.

You can create complex illustrations by using simple combinations of shapes such as rectangles, squares, or circles. You can draw basic shapes using the shape tools in the toolbox.
You can press and hold different keys or key combinations as you draw shapes to control certain aspects of a shape. E.g. if you press and hold ctrl while you draw a shape, you can draw a proportional shape such as a square or circle. The following table lists some basic keys or key combinations that work with most of the shape tools.

Key(s)                                           Result
Ctrl                         Draw a proportional shape, such as a circle or squre.
Shift                       Draw a shape from the center outward.
Ctrl+Shift             Draw a proportional shapes from the outward.

To draw a rectangle:   lick on the rectangle tools from the tools box and drag it
To draw a Circle: lick on the ellipse tools from the tools box then press and hold ctrl and drag it
Freehand and Polyline tools
The Bezier  and Pen tools let you draw lines one segment at a time by placing each node with precision and controlling the shape of each curved segment. When usingthe Pen tool, you can preview the line segments you are drawing.

3-Point curve  tool lets you draw simple curved lines by specifying their width and height. Use this tool to create arc shapes quickly without manipulating nodes.

Polygons and Stars
You can create polygons and stars using the Polygon and Star tools. Similar to other basic shapes, you can control attributes for each shape by using options in the property bar. The tool you select determines the available options.
Glyphs: Polygon and star shapes are unique in that they contain glyphs you can use to modify their shapes. A glyph is a small red square that’s visible on the outline of a shape when you select it using the shape tool. You can drag the glyph to alter the shape. For example, in a star shape, you can drag the glyph to adjust its inner radius, as shown below
